The human.json protocol provides a lightweight method for website owners to assert human authorship and vouch for other human-operated sites, addressing the growing problem of AI-generated content. It uses URL ownership as identity and creates a crawlable web of trust through mutual vouching between verified human authors. The project is currently in draft status (version 0.1.1) and aims to help distinguish human-created content from AI-generated material.
Background
As AI-generated content proliferates across the web, distinguishing human-created content has become increasingly challenging. Existing methods for verifying human authorship often rely on centralized platforms or complex authentication systems.
