Plans to possibly retire the big-endian PowerPC/POWER platforms

Chimera Linux is planning to retire support for big-endian 32-bit PowerPC and 64-bit POWER platforms due to lack of community maintenance, unfixed regressions in key components like Mesa and WebKit, and insufficient build infrastructure. The decision stems from slow deterioration of platform usability without dedicated maintainers to address long-standing issues. This does not affect the little-endian ppc64le platform which will continue to be supported.

Background

PowerPC/POWER architectures have historically been important in servers and embedded systems, with big-endian variants seeing declining community support in recent years as little-endian architectures dominate modern computing.
