LG Display has begun mass production of LCD laptop screens with dynamic refresh rates ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, automatically adjusting based on screen content. The company claims these 'Oxide 1Hz' displays can extend battery life by up to 48% compared to existing solutions by dropping to 1 Hz for static content. While BOE and Intel announced similar technology last year, LG is the first to reach mass production stage for laptop displays.
