NZXT to pay $3.45 million settlement over Flex PC rentals

NZXT and partner Fragile will pay $3.45 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging deceptive marketing and aggressive debt collection in their Flex PC rental program. The settlement resolves claims that the service misled 19,322 customers by not clearly disclosing it was not rent-to-own. NZXT continues to offer PC rentals under new terms following the agreement.

Background

NZXT is a well-known PC hardware company that expanded into subscription-based PC rentals through its Flex program. Class-action lawsuits are common in consumer protection cases where companies face allegations of misleading business practices.
