Kaspersky has uncovered a widespread cyberattack campaign where Chinese state-sponsored hackers allegedly planted a backdoor in popular Windows software Daemon Tools. The security firm reported thousands of infection attempts and at least a dozen confirmed successful breaches through malicious versions of the software.
