Developer Tobias Friedly has successfully ported the original Super Mario 64 N64 source code to run on the Game Boy Advance, achieving 5-15 FPS through extensive optimization. While still not fully playable, this technical achievement demonstrates impressive reverse engineering and optimization work to run 3D graphics on the GBA's limited hardware. The project was inspired by Joshua Barretto's earlier demake of the game for GBA.
