Impulse Space has raised $500 million in Series D funding, bringing its total funding to over $1 billion, to expand its orbital mobility services. The company, founded by SpaceX veteran Tom Mueller, has already completed three missions with its Mira spacecraft and is developing the larger Helios kick stage. The funding will support growing demand from commercial customers and government agencies like NASA and the Space Force for satellite mobility and lunar landing services.
Background
Space mobility has become increasingly important as more satellites are launched and space agencies plan lunar missions. Companies are developing technologies to move satellites between orbits and provide in-space transportation services.
