Apple and Audi alumni have made a luxe EV based on the moon buggy

Amble, a new European startup founded by ex-Audi and Apple employees, has launched the Amble One, a $25,000 lightweight electric vehicle designed for short-range luxury mobility. Stripped down to meet European L7e regulations, the open-air buggy offers over 60 miles of range and weighs under 450kg, targeting coastal paths and private estates rather than traditional road use.

Background

The EV market is seeing increased competition from niche players offering specialized, low-speed vehicles that bypass strict automotive regulations. This trend highlights a growing demand for affordable, stylish micro-mobility solutions in specific geographic contexts.
