Nintendo will stop selling the original Switch in Europe next year

Nintendo has confirmed that it will cease sales of all original Switch family consoles, including the Switch Lite and OLED Model, across Europe starting in mid-February 2027. This decision marks the end of an era for the platform nearly ten years after its initial launch, coinciding with the anticipated release of the Switch 2.

Background

The Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017 and became one of the best-selling consoles of all time. With the industry anticipating a successor, this move signals the end of the current generation's retail availability in key European markets.
