OpenMandriva Says Former Contributor Sabotaged Its Repositories

OpenMandriva reported that former contributor Davide Beatrici sabotaged its repositories following an internal dispute over infrastructure management and behavioral issues. Beatrici allegedly deleted significant historical data from GitHub and pushed an empty package to the Cooker rolling release branch, replacing critical GNOME and COSMIC packages. The project is currently working to restore the deleted content and mitigate potential damage to user systems.

Background

OpenMandriva is a community-driven Linux distribution that evolved from the original Mandrake Linux, maintaining a rolling release model known as 'Cooker' for developers and early adopters.
