Quantum computers outperform classical ones, with results you can trust

IBM has announced three new entries in its quantum advantage tracker that demonstrate quantum computers outperforming classical ones using different error-correction and validation techniques. While the results are not immediately practical, they address a key challenge: verifying correctness when classical computers cannot simulate the quantum output.

Background

Quantum computers promise exponential speedups for certain problems, but current noisy hardware makes it hard to verify if results are correct or merely artifacts of errors. IBM's tracker aims to establish verifiable benchmarks where classical simulation is impossible.
