2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport X proves code is as important as hardware

Chevrolet has reimagined its hybrid Corvette technology from the now-discontinued E-Ray into the 2027 Grand Sport X, featuring a different electric motor, new engine, and extensive software tweaks that make it feel sharper and more track-oriented. Lead development engineer Keith Badgley noted that E-Ray owners were using the car for tracking despite its grand-tourer positioning, prompting the redesign.

Background

Chevrolet introduced the E-Ray as its first hybrid Corvette in 2023, blending performance with all-weather capability. The model has since been discontinued, with its hybrid technology repurposed into the new Grand Sport X variant.
