EVgo will begin deploying license-built Tesla V4 Superchargers across the US this fall, marking the first time a non-Tesla company manufactures Supercharger hardware under license. The chargers deliver up to 500 kW, support both NACS and CCS1 plugs, and will appear in Tesla's navigation app despite being owned and operated by EVgo.
Background
Tesla opened its Supercharger network to other automakers in 2023, starting with Ford, and the NACS connector has been rapidly replacing CCS1 as the North American charging standard. The UK saw the first license-built Superchargers deployed in 2024.
