rust-lang/rust is adopting an LLM policy

Five teams in the Rust project have adopted a policy governing how Large Language Models can be used when contributing to the rust-lang/rust monorepo. The policy targets PR reviewers, authors of LLM-generated code, issue reporters, and commenters who quote LLMs, aiming to preserve community collaboration standards while not banning LLM use outright.

Background

The Rust programming language project has long relied on a strong contributor community and collaborative code review process. As LLM usage in open-source contributions grows, projects are increasingly grappling with how to regulate AI-assisted development.
