Navi, the Bengaluru-based fintech founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, has raised $100 million from Prosus in its first outside institutional funding round, valuing the company at around $1.3 billion. The investment comes as Navi prepares for an IPO aimed at raising ₹30 billion (~$314 million), following a previously shelved plan from 2023.
Background
Prosus is a global consumer internet investment company and the flagship investment arm of Naspers, one of the world's largest tech investors with stakes in companies like SpaceX and Mercado Libre. Sachin Bansal co-founded Flipkart in 2007 and sold his stake before Walmart's $16 billion acquisition in 2018.
