KIO Snapshot is a newly released KDE integration that brings Btrfs snapshot functionality directly into Dolphin and other KDE software, allowing users to browse and restore previous versions of files right from the file browser. The feature enables a native Linux equivalent to Windows' Previous Versions and macOS' Time Machine by letting users access distinct past versions of any file or subvolume through a right-click context menu.
Background
KDE has been working on deeper filesystem integration for its Dolphin file manager, and Btrfs's efficient copy-on-write snapshot feature has long been desired as a native undo/time-travel mechanism in Linux desktop environments.
