Google is beginning a staged rollout of Motion Assist, an anti-motion-sickness feature on Pixel phones running Android 17, delivering it via Play Services. The feature places moving dots at the screen edges that track the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope data to mimic real-world visual motion and reduce nausea.
Background
Apple introduced Motion Cues in iOS 18 (2024) as an accessibility feature for motion sickness, which Google has now mirrored for Android. This is Google's first implementation of the feature after internal testing began in 2024.
