XDOF, just three months out of stealth, is in talks for a Series B at a $1.2B valuation

XDOF, a UC Berkeley-founded startup that builds teleoperation data pipelines for training general-purpose robots, is in late-stage Series B talks at a $1.2B valuation led by 8VC — just three months after emerging from stealth. The company's rapid growth, with annualized revenue nearing $50 million, prompted VCs to approach it for a new round despite no initial plans to raise again so soon.

Background

XDOF was co-founded by UC Berkeley PhD researcher Philipp Wu and Fred Shentu in 2024, initially building GELLO — a low-cost teleoperation system. The startup raised a $70M Series A in June 2026 from top-tier investors including Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Lux, and Spark Capital.
