Any Nix package, live in your browser

Trynix.dev is a browser-based Nix package runner that boots a Linux VM inside a browser tab using WebAssembly, letting users run any of 310,000+ Nix package versions without installing anything locally. The project leverages Farid Zakaria's prior work on nixpkgs-multiverse, grail, and omniflake to skip evaluation and directly serve pre-built store paths. Users can search, pick a version, and get an interactive shell in seconds.

Background

Farid Zakaria has been building tools to improve the Nix ecosystem, including nixpkgs-multiverse (indexing all historical package versions), grail (version range queries), and omniflake (bulk flake management). This project represents a convergence of those efforts into a novel browser-based execution environment.
