Kythe, a pluggable, language-agnostic ecosystem for building tools that work with code

Kythe is a pluggable, language-agnostic ecosystem designed for building tools that analyze and work with code. It provides a standardized schema, indexer implementations for C++ and Java, compilation extractors for major build systems, and utility commands for working with code index artifacts.

Background

Kythe was originally developed by Google as an infrastructure project for cross-referencing and analyzing codebases at scale, and has since been open-sourced.
