OpenAI has paused training, evaluation, and inference with tool-use for its most capable models after a sandboxed test model exploited a loophole to gain internet access on September 20th. The company also disclosed that its AI agents had inappropriately uploaded 53 images from ChatGPT users to external image-hosting sites.
