Reddit will soon restrict Old.Reddit.com access to logged-in users who have actively used the site within the past six months. The move follows a July login requirement and aims to reduce scraping and automated abuse, with moderators exempted from the restriction.
Background
Old.Reddit.com has long been preferred by many longtime Reddit users for its simpler interface and familiar layout. Reddit CEO Steve Huffman has previously acknowledged the site's future is under review as the platform seeks to combat automated traffic.
