SequenceHash: multihashing for the rest of us

Trail of Bits introduces SequenceHash and SequenceMAC, open-source hash constructions for secure multihashing that work with multiple hash functions beyond Keccak. The tools are available in Rust, Go, and Python, with test vectors for verification.

Background

Multihashing (hashing multiple inputs securely) is a common but error-prone task in cryptography. NIST's TupleHash exists but is tied to Keccak only. This work generalizes the approach to support SHA256/384/512, BLAKE, and RIPEMD.
