Google has expanded its SynthID AI content detector to support watermarks from partner AI systems including OpenAI, Nvidia, Kakao, and soon Apple, and launched it on a new dedicated website at SynthID.com. The tool detects invisible signals embedded in AI-generated images, videos, and audio, addressing the previous limitation of only detecting Google's own watermark.
Background
SynthID is a collaboration between Google and other major AI companies to embed invisible watermarks in AI-generated content to combat misinformation. Google's Gemini model has already integrated SynthID into over 180 billion images and videos.
