Amazon builds 1,000th satellite, will launch space internet service by end of year

Amazon has manufactured its 1,000th satellite for its Leo constellation and is weeks away from launching commercial space broadband internet, challenging SpaceX's Starlink dominance. Led by former Starlink head Rajeev Badyal, the project will debut aboard a Vulcan rocket and targets enterprises like airlines, shipping companies, and governments.

Background

SpaceX's Starlink has dominated the low-Earth orbit internet market for nearly five years, with limited competition from OneWeb's focused regional services. The global demand for satellite broadband continues to grow across consumer, commercial, and government sectors.
