Polestar partnered with University of Oxford researchers to study the human driving experience behind the wheel of performance electric vehicles, going beyond traditional spec-sheet metrics. A pilot study instrumented 12 drivers with heart rate monitors and EEG skullcaps while they test-drove rear- and all-wheel-drive versions of the Polestar 4 at a Swedish track.
Background
Polestar is Volvo's electrified performance brand, and the Polestar 4 is its midsize crossover SUV. The study aims to bridge the gap between engineering specifications and the subjective human experience of driving a performance EV.
