YouTube is testing a change that would move the dislike button from its prominent position next to the like button into a three-dots submenu, significantly reducing its visibility and ease of access. This follows previous moves to remove the dislike counter entirely and hide the button on YouTube Shorts.
Background
YouTube removed the public dislike count in November 2021, citing creator harassment concerns. The platform has since continued gradual changes to dislike functionality, including removing it from Shorts.
