YouTube has publicly denied testing the removal of the dislike button from regular viewers, stating via spokesperson Kimberly Taylor that no such experiment is underway. The company is only introducing a new creator-facing UI for uploaded videos where the dislike button will be repositioned, not hidden.
Background
YouTube has faced ongoing backlash over its 2021 decision to hide dislike counts, which creators argued enabled harassment and removed valuable quality signals. This denial comes amid persistent rumors of further changes to the dislike feature.
