Anthropic is donating its Agent Skills specification to the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) under the Linux Foundation, following the same path it took with the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This move ensures the standard remains open, community-driven, and vendor-neutral, building on AAIF's recent establishment as the new home for MCP.
Background
The Agentic AI Foundation was co-founded last year by Anthropic, Block, and OpenAI to develop and maintain open standards for AI agents. The AAIF already houses the MCP specification after Anthropic donated it.
