Emacs finally folds to my liking

The author created kirigami, an Emacs package that unifies folding across different modes (Tree-sitter, Hideshow, Outline, Org, Vdiff) behind a single consistent keybinding interface. It solves the problem of having to remember different fold commands in each major mode by dispatching to the appropriate engine automatically.

Background

Emacs is a highly customizable text editor popular among programmers, known for its extensibility through Lisp. Code folding is a long-standing pain point due to inconsistent implementations across different major modes.
