Readwise has launched a new app called Readwise Books, combining an e-book store, reading tracker, detailed stats, and AI features. The move is a direct challenge to Amazon's Kindle and Goodreads ecosystem, aiming to attract book lovers with a more feature-rich and open platform.
Background
Readwise has long been known for its highlights and reading companion tools. Amazon dominates the e-reading space through Kindle and Goodreads, making this a notable competitive entry.
