macOS 27 does not support CoreStorage volumes

macOS 27 (Golden Gate) appears to have removed support for CoreStorage volumes and HFS filesystems, which could affect users with legacy disk configurations. The discovery was made during testing and raises questions about data migration paths for older Mac setups.

Background

CoreStorage is Apple's logical volume manager used in previous macOS versions, and HFS+ (Journaled HFS) was the default filesystem before APFS became standard in 2017.
