No more Cybertrucks; Musk moves on from the angular metallic flop

Elon Musk announced that Tesla will end Cybertruck production by mid-2027, redirecting factory capacity toward Cybercab development. The vehicle, launched in 2019 with ambitious stainless-steel monocoque promises, has faced persistent quality issues and recalls since its 2023 debut.

Background

The Cybertruck, unveiled in 2019 with unconventional angular stainless-steel design and claims of monocoque construction, entered limited production in 2023 amid ongoing quality and recall challenges. Tesla is increasingly betting on robotaxi services with the Cybercab as its autonomous future pivot.
