Announcing BABLR

BABLR is a new open-source parser framework and development platform that reimagines IDEs as code document editors rather than text file editors. The release includes the BABLR parser (competing with Tree-sitter), agAST parse tree format (competing with ESTree), and CSTML data language for parse trees. The platform aims to create an ecosystem where language authors, tool developers, and end-users can collaborate effectively.

Background

Traditional IDEs and code editors are primarily text-based, with various tools like linters and formatters built around this paradigm. BABLR represents an attempt to shift this paradigm towards a more structured, document-oriented approach to code editing.
