Bose has announced the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen), featuring improved bass, volume, and battery life alongside a subtle redesign. The company also introduced a more affordable Sport Open Earbuds model aimed at providing a secure fit during workouts. Preorders begin September 19th at $299, with general availability on October 1st.
Background
Bose originally launched the Ultra Open Earbuds roughly two-and-a-half years ago, helping popularize the clip-on open-earbud form factor in the wireless audio market. Open-ear designs have since become a growing segment as consumers seek earbuds that don't fully seal the ear canal.
