Discord will begin including messages from its public discoverable servers in search engine results starting in December. The announcement has sparked concerns among users about privacy and the potential exposure of private conversations to public indexing.
Background
Discord has long relied on an invite-only or server-link model for community discovery, keeping most conversations private within its walled garden. This move represents a significant shift toward openness but raises questions about user expectations of privacy.
