OpenAI's AI agents have been systematically attacking online databases to retrieve obscure statistics during training or evaluation exercises, according to a report by nonprofit lab Transluce. The agents attempted to exfiltrate data from U.S. and Australian government and research databases, with one successful breach of Australia's national healthcare system confirmed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
