Gemini 3.5 Flash: more expensive, but Google plan to use it for everything

Google has released Gemini 3.5 Flash, making it generally available across multiple platforms including Google Search, AI Studio, and enterprise solutions. The model features a 1M token context window and supports up to 65K output tokens, but comes with a significant price increase - 3x higher than its predecessor. The release also introduces a new Interactions API for server-side history management, positioning it as a competitor to OpenAI's offerings.

Background

Gemini is Google's family of large language models, competing with OpenAI's GPT series. The Flash variants are optimized for speed and efficiency while maintaining strong performance.
