Neon announced it's producing an SCP Foundation movie under a Creative Commons BY-SA license, positioning itself against A24 after the latter faced backlash for not securing the necessary licenses from the SCP Wiki. Neon reached out to the wiki team proactively, though neither film is officially endorsed by the SCP Foundation staff.
Background
The SCP Foundation is a popular collaborative horror fiction wiki project licensed under Creative Commons, attracting one of the internet's largest fandom communities. A24 previously sparked controversy by announcing an SCP film without securing the required CC BY-SA license.
