Reddit is forcing all users to log in before browsing, eliminating the ability to view content as a guest. The move comes amid rising scraping and automated traffic issues, prompting lawsuits against unauthorized data access and prior restrictions like limiting Old Reddit access.
Background
Reddit has long been a go-to resource for crowdsourced human-written answers via Google searches. The platform's open browsing model has made it increasingly vulnerable to data scraping bots, prompting legal and policy countermeasures.
