Revision Prompting improves industrial LLM processes

Revision Prompting is a technique that improves industrial LLM pipelines by processing input and output revisions instead of re-running full prompts. When input data changes, it constructs a revision prompt that asks the LLM to produce a patch updating the previous output, addressing both consistency issues from non-determinism and unnecessary token costs.

Background

Large language models are increasingly deployed in automated industrial pipelines for tasks like data extraction, translation, and document processing. Current naive re-run approaches waste resources and produce inconsistent outputs when inputs change incrementally.
