Samsung’s new app claims to alleviate motion sickness using sound

Samsung has released a free Android app called Hearapy that uses a 100Hz sine wave tone played through headphones for 60 seconds to alleviate motion sickness symptoms by stimulating the vestibular system. The app allows users to adjust the tone duration between 40-120 seconds and is designed for use with Galaxy Buds or other headphones. This represents an innovative non-pharmaceutical approach to a common travel discomfort using audio technology.

Background

Motion sickness affects many people during travel and is typically addressed with medication or behavioral adaptations. Tech companies are increasingly exploring non-invasive digital health solutions through wearable devices.
