Using docker-compose with Podman rootless

This tutorial explains how to use docker-compose with Podman by exposing Podman's Unix-domain socket as a Docker-compatible API endpoint. It covers enabling the podman.socket via systemctl --user, setting DOCKER_HOST to point to the socket, and then running docker-compose commands normally.

Background

Podman is a daemonless container engine and Docker alternative for Linux that supports running containers without root privileges via user namespaces.
